Ms. Aria Bowen

Fundraising Director for AWARE- NY

WHO WE ARE....

Founder of USMTA AWARE Arjarn  Richard Sniffen

The USMTA AWARE program was founded by: Arjarn Ric Sniffen. The AWARE program was developed in 1988 for Self-defense training. AWARE stands for Alert Women’s Awareness Response Exercise. This program has successfully worked in two states, Oklahoma and Texas. At this time because of a merger between The (United States Muay Thai Association), and The (Native American Muay Thai Association) all rights to the AWARE program now fall under The United States Muay Thai Association. Through negotiated talks with Arjarn Clinton Heyliger and Antonio Guy who structured the (Unified States Muay Thai Association AWARE) program, this program is now going to be instilled in New York.

The reason it is called the (Unified States Muay Thai Association) is because we are uniting the three states under the same flag. The program used in Oklahoma and Texas will be used in New York some added training modifications will be instilled and techniques will be enhanced because of the geographical differences in the three states but the methods and program will still be based as a nonprofit entity.

The purpose of the Organization is to provide the general public and anyone who has ever been abused by Assault, Rape, Domestic Violence or any form of Attack. With the knowledge needed to possibly avoid such confrontations, by Education, Training, and becoming AWARE of potential situations which may put oneself in harm or danger. We will allow anyone to participate who wishes to do so.

This program is designed to help our communities and the people residing in them, at this time our nation faces economic and social decline. There are not enough jobs and not enough finances for just the average person to live daily. As jobs are cut and the economy declines it has already been reported that crime is on an upward climb. More violence is being committed throughout our streets and communities then in the last few years. This means that the citizens of our community face more violent crimes against their person then before. For this reason we wish to offer anyone this program that can not afford to take self-defense classes because of financial status.  Women, men, and young adults, that have faced abuse already. We hope that this program can help them to gain confidence, become self-motivated, educated, and AWARE of the potential dangers that may prevent this from happening again and through Physical Fitness and Training not only prevent but be able to defend themselves from these forms of abuse and attack.

The USMTA AWARE program wishes to stress that at no time does this program promote violence and it does not promote vigilantism. For this reason, we have instilled in this program, members who are knowledgeable and have worked in the field of Domestic Violence and Assault. We feel that women, men, and young adults, who come into the program can be assessed by people who are knowledgeable, and if need be referred to the proper programs or crisis centers that are better equipped to handle such situations.

We will affiliate ourselves with local law enforcement. To refer anyone who comes in to one of our facilities after being screened the chance to inform the proper authorities with the needed information to apprehend or investigate any complaints of abuse. We are not law enforcement and do not in any way shape or form wish to portray that we are.

We believe that in the past our Military, and Civilian personnel who fought and died for the privileges and rights that we now have under the Constitution of the United States be honored by giving back to our communities were some of there Great Grandchildren and Children now live. We wish to give this program free to all, for they died freely defending our rights we now give freely back.  We also intend to honor the individuals that lost there lives in the September 11th Attacks. We are not setting up a fund for 9/11 we will in conjunction with the loved ones of those that lost their lives be dedicating certain Fund Raising events, utilizing Thai Boxing and other forms of Martial Arts which the AWARE program trains our students in. We in conjunction with certain organizations will be putting on Martial Arts Demonstrations and Thai Boxing events to raise funds for the program so that the program can be self-sufficient.

Mr. Antonio Guy  NY AWARE  Executive Director

These events will have Championship Belts and Trophies which will be dedicate in honor of those that lost their lives in September 11th and certain wings of any facility built will carry on the name of donators and our fallen loved ones. We will show that our loved ones although they are no longer with us still contribute and did not die in vain. Anyone who died in the 9/11 attacks all family members are allowed to utilize the program at any facility we are affiliated with.

As with our sister organizations in Oklahoma and Texas that Train the Girl Scouts, Women’s Organizations, including such Corporate Organizations as AT&T and WorldCell. To name a few, All contributions given to our organization is a donation to the upkeep our facilities and its operations.

We hope to build ¾ or ½ way housing for all the Women and anyone that can not go back to their homes because of abuse. This program will be organized with Rape and Domestic Violence Organizations so that counselors are located at these facilities we also will have accommodations for their Children. If a women who has been in a situation of abuse starts to go into a re-entry phase at one of our programs. A Tiny Tots program for Children will be instilled at our facilities so that after school these children will have a place to learn physical fitness, have instructional games, and role play on how to avoid potential abduction situations. This program will also be offered to the general public and schools. A abused parent will feel growing concern for the protection and safety of their children. Because after a person has suffered an assault, they are not likely to trust anyone with the care of there children.

Mr. Bruce Bowen Promotions, Spokesman & Director. NY AWARE

Therefore we want to install a Camera system that is directly connected to the World Wide Web, and the Internet so that any Parent, Contributor, or Local Law Enforcement can look into our facilities activities.

Any accusation deemed viable will result in immediate forfeiture of any and all positions within the organization and rights to the program. We agree in one voice that we will dedicate certain events to the 9/11 victims to honor our fallen hero’s, in a series of events and will try to dedicate within our promotional certain sections to Sponsors/Donators and any and all Organizations that help our endeavors.

We also dedicate ourselves to the Individuals who have been victims of abuse and agree to treat them with the utmost respect and honor all of these people’s rights of confidentiality.  We thank everyone who will be participating in this program and wish all the best of luck.
